Streetcar Infrastructure Improvements
The Atlanta Streetcar is a 2.62 mile system that runs in an East-West loop from the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic site to Centennial Olympic Park traveling on multiple streets with mixed traffic. Prior to the Atlanta Streetcar Design-Build team commencing work, the Department of Watershed Management (DWM) facilities and all other impacted utilities within the Streetcar alignment area had to be relocated. To help advance the project, DWM relocated specified sanitary/storm water segments and water service laterals in the East Loop. Relocation of water, sewer, and stormwater utilities were largely located in the historic district of the City requiring expertise in understanding complex conditions.
Rohadfox provided resident engineering and field inspection services for this project. Our experienced staff provided direction and management for various utility conflicts experienced under unforeseen conditions resulting from undocumented private utilities. Our experience in handling field and design clarifications and solutions reduced risks and offered cost savings.
